BIO:

Luke Bowman:  I am a PhD Candidate in Geology at Michigan Tech University. My research relates to disaster risk reduction efforts at San Vicente Volcano, El Salvador following deadly lahars and debris flows in 2009. My Peace Corps experiences in Honduras and El Salvador, extended field seasons for my masters research at Santa Ana volcano, El Salvador, and Phd research through Fulbright in El Salvador have allowed me to approach development and risk reduction in a more holistic way, exploring ways in which to most effectively integrate the physical science concerning the hazard and social aspects that influence how hazards and risk are perceived by local populations.
