Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) in NC maintains a proactive flood mitigation program which works to reduce flood losses. CMSWS has developed a data-driven framework referred to as Risk Assessment/Risk Reduction (RARR) to prioritize and guide implementation of mitigation strategies/activities. RARR utilizes a multi-faceted scoring system to assess flood risk and evaluate/rank mitigation options at the individual building level.
