Please Join the Natural Hazard Mitigation Association (NHMA) with the 2nd delivery of our webinar series as we discuss building code effectiveness with the Federal Emergency Management Agency during observance of Building Safety Month. Presenters will be John Ingargiola, Lead Physical Scientist, FEMA’s Building Sciences Branch and Dale Thomure, CHM Manager, with Insurance Services Office (ISO)/Verisk Analytics, on the Building Code Effectiveness Grading Schedule (BCEGS). As many of you are aware, the BCEGS rating is part of the application process for FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) funding that will open again this fall. Speakers will provide information on “No Codes/No Confidence 2.0″ Campaign, importance and community impacts through use of higher standard code enforcement measures, and touch on the nation’s need for capacity building through the use of mutual aid and Disaster Risk Reduction Act of 2019’s Section 1206.
