This is a reminder to register for the CTP Summer Course by Friday, July 24th. The course, which is focused on Communications and Outreach, will feature an engaging workshop on Community-Based Social Marketing led by world-renowned psychologist Dr. McKenzie-Mohr. The CTP Special Topics Course is officially moving to virtual webinar delivery. It will take place over 2.5 days, August 3-5, 2020 via Zoom video conferencing. Registration is open in Eventbrite through Friday, July 24. The registration link is below, which contains more course details and the agenda.

This course will be offered externally from the Emergency Management Institute (EMI). Thus, it will not be eligible for the EMI certificate; however, CECs through ASFPM can still be obtained for attending this course. This course will focus on Communication and Outreach Topics, with a special focus on the emerging field of Community-Based Social Marketing (CBSM). The CBSM session/workshop will be led by the CBSM founder and world-renowned Psychologist, Dr. McKenzie-Mohr (bio), and will focus on innovative approaches to overcoming barriers to increase mitigation at the local level.

To apply, you must work for an organization that is currently a CTP. If your organization is interested in becoming a CTP, please reach out to your Regional FEMA office. Agenda Overview

  • Day 1 (10 am ET – 4 pm ET): Course Kickoff, Setting the Stage, and Introduction to Community-Based Social Marketing (CBSM)
  • Day 2 (10 am ET – 4 pm ET): CBSM Workshop Exercises and Peer-to-Peer Learning – CBSM sessions will focus on innovative approaches to overcoming barriers to increase mitigation at the local level
  • Day 3 (10 am ET – 12:30 pm ET): CTP Program Nuts & Bolts, Course Conclusion
