The Training and Education Committee

The Training and Education Committee brings together career mitigation public and private practitioners and academic researchers who are passionate about hazard mitigation and resilient planning and projects to advance NHMA’s mission on a local, regional, national and international scale. The committee creates a collaborative space where team members actively shape, build peer networks, and work on timely webinars, modular course content that supporting local, state, tribal, territorial and federal NHMA training support and curriculum development and refinement efforts, and contributing research and content for current-event technical white papers. The committee is open to participants from all backgrounds and disciplines, the committee offers a platform to work side-by-side with like-minded professionals, in a “no fault” constructive environment to help drive innovative, equity-focused natural hazard risk reduction in communities within and across numerous jurisdictional boundaries. The main through this important work is to end up with a platform that will lead to a hazard mitigation certification platform for all end-users working within the NHMA outreach, training, education and certification process construct.
